Fewer routes - better
information
Walking was one activity that appeared to gain
in popularity thanks to the restrictions brought
about by Covid. That popularity hasn’t, or so it
seems, been maintained.
Some at least of those new to it’s benefits as a
form of exercise will have been deterred from
trying more adventurous routes by a lack of
confidence at route-finding.
There’s no shortage of advice available to help
you pick out a route if you are visiting one of the
UK’s greener and lumpier regions and want to
leave the car behind for a few hours, but you
may be presented with an overwhelming
number of choices and only limited information
as to how to decide between them. How can you
be sure that the route is right for you? If only
you could see what it’s like beforehand…….
And not everyone has the confidence in their
ability to find the way, armed with just a map,
or a map and a GPS, or a phone and faltering
faith in the true extent of 4G coverage. That can
mean relying on someone else, or not going at
all.
Here, for each route, you get a custom map
which you can print or view on a small screen -
custom in that only the information relevant to
finding the way is included.
And so that you can see if the route is right for
you, there are videos, at both normal and high
speed, of the entire route.
So there should be no surprises, nasty or nice.
Some people want to know what to expect
around every corner. Some don’t.
And in case you were wondering just how many
routes there are for each area, it’s not two. That
would be silly.

And to prove that there really is other stuff in preparation, here’s a sample of
what may be appearing in the next few months.
Taster Video
Clicking on the icon in the bottom corner will
bring up a taster video lasting about 6 minutes.
The video should open in a new tab.
You could also right click and “save link as”,
then play in a media player such as VLC.
This applies to all the tasters and samples
available on this site.
Cookies
You’re wondering why there isn’t a cookie warning,
aren’t you?
This site does use cookies, but only if and when
you get to the cart stage. These are deemed
“strictly necessary”, so no consent is required,
there are no boxes to tick, and you won’t be
analysed or tracked (or remembered).
There is still a “cookies policy” to read though -
available on the Policies button above.
